666 - The Number of the Beast
Revelation 13:1-18 --
" And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven
heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of
blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of
a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat,
and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly
wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the
dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like
unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth
speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and
two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and
his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the
saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and
nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in
the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let
him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword
must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. And I beheld
another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as
a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth
and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And
he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the
sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which
he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they
should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had
power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak,
and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he
causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right
hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or
the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath
understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is
Six hundred threescore and six."
If this passage of scripture frightens or concerns you then God has not yet finished with you.
You see, this passage is speaking of the coming Antichrist. This powerful, yet limited person
will deceive many.
Beware of the spirit of antichrist on earth right now.
Many so-called religious leaders are harboring the spirit of antichrist in their souls. Some
political leaders are displaying the spirit of antichrist. Take heed lest you be deceived and
destroyed by the terrifying spirit of antichrist.
The Bible speaks of the signs of the Antichrist. The passage of scripture from Revelation 13
reveals several of the signs.
The most commonly spoken of and recognizable is the number of the beast, or Antichrist, 666.
Revelation 13:18 reveals this number. It is written as, "Six hundred threescore and six." Or,
666.
Even among those who do not claim a relationship with Jesus Christ this number seems to
hold some evil, mystical power. How many times have you seen someone in a grocery store
check-out line comment about the total of their purchase when it totalled $6.66. I've seen
people go so far as buying something extra to make the total different. Maybe you have done
this yourself...
Why then, does this number strike fear into the heart of so many? Why does it drive many to
superstitious thoughts?
It is not the number that is evil, but who it personifies! Antichrist!
In Revelation 13, it is recorded that those who do not "receive" the mark of this Antichrist will
not be able to buy or sell. Do you realize the gravity of that statement? That means those who
do not receive the mark, or the number 666, will eventually starve to death.
It has been commonly accepted that this will take place after the catching-away, or rapture, of
the church. But, that is not an absolute. There is some scriptural evidence that it may happen
differently.
Yes, my friend , there may come a day when you will no longer be able to shop as you always
have, unless you pledge your allegiance to the Antichrist, and sell your soul to him and his
regime.
You see, those who receive this identifying mark will proclaim their trust in and devotion to
Antichrist, and rescind any possibility of salvation through Jesus Christ. Simply stated, they will
buy a one-way ticket to Hell!
I have witnessed precursors to this system of commerce all around for several years. One fine
example is the push for a universal, world-wide currency. With a universally accepted
currency, it will make the transition to the "mark" extremely easier.
The American dollar is gradually losing value, while other commonly accepted currencies are
gaining or maintaining their respective values. Eventually I believe that our American dollar will
be worthless, and it will be natural for our government to accept another monetary unit, such
as the Euro, the currency that 16 of 27 members of the European Union have accepted.
Beware when there is talk of a one-world currency.
Another example is the electronic labeling and tracking devices that are being "installed" in
animals and household pets all around the world. These "identifiers" are most assuredly the
forerunners of the "mark of the beast", or 666, the number of the Antichrist. It is said that one
almost microscopic computer chip can contain millions of pieces of information. These chips
are used to identify that carrier. Currently they are used to make sure "Fido" or "Spot" do not
become missing. One day they will be used to help identify those who can "legally" buy or sell.
The mark of the beast may or may not literally be translated as the numbers 6-6-6. It may be
as simple as that, or, it could be a highly complex numerical equation utilizing those numbers
or a combination of the three. But, be warned, there will be a day that no man, woman, or child
will be free to live as they do now without accepting this "mark".
Multiplied millions will accept this without second thought. Multiplied millions have already
accepted the spirit of antichrist. So, the "mark" will be easily administered to them. For they
have already made their decision regarding Christ. They have chosen to rebel against Him
and instead go the way of the transgressor.
Let your heart be moved by these words. Listen to the bidding of the Spirit of God. There is
one definite in life. Someday, all will stand before God and be judged according to his or her
deeds. Without the evidence of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, all will be lost for eternity.
Read carefully these closing words.
"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the
number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." -- Revelation 13:18
You have been warned. By God. By the Bible. By me. And, by your own conscience.
II Corinthians 6:2 says,"...behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of
salvation.”
