Changed Into God's Kind of Man
The chosen king of Israel, Saul, is spoken of by the High
Priest and Judge, Samuel in I Samuel 10:6.
"And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and
thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into
another man."
Then again in verse 9,
"And it was so, that when he had turned his back to
go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those
signs came to pass that day."
When first chosen to be ruler over Israel, Saul was young,
inexperienced, and simply unprepared. But God recognized
unseen potential and possibilities within Saul.
Nevertheless, Saul within himself appeared unsure and anxious
to undertake this task which was set before him.
He was even found to be "hiding amongst the stuff" when the
choosing for king was taking place. (I Samuel 10:22)
In his present condition he was simply not "king-material."
He was not prepared to lead. He was not energized to reign.
He was not excited to be called. He was not dedicated to the
cause.
He needed a change.
He needed to be changed into God's kind of man.
A man suitable for God's calling must be a man of;
INTEGRITY.
Being a man of integrity requires stability, accountability,
a seriousness of purpose, and dedication.
Are you a man or woman of integrity?
The great man, Job, after being tested by hard trial was able
to retain his integrity.
"Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain
thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her,
Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What?
shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not
receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips."
(Job 2:9&10)
Simply stated, Job was still holding on to his faith. After
what would have made most to stumble and fall, Job still
remained solid.
Job was a man of integrity.
To be useful for the building of God's kingdom, one must also
be a man of;
TESTIMONY.
"By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see
death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for
before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased
God." (Hebrews 11:5)
Enoch's testimony was a life of pleasing God.
Many are convinced that a testimony is mere words.
Those people are wrong.
One's testimony is far more than words. It is a life. A walk.
A solid testimony cannot be destroyed by rumors. A righteous
testimony will not be diluted by doubt.
What is the condition of your testimony?
One other important attribute that a man of God must maintain
is;
HUMILITY.
The Apostle Peter penned these words.
"Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the
elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be
clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and
giveth grace to the humble."
If anyone could recall a life filled with pride, it was the
Apostle Peter.
Many times during his early experience with Christ, he
displayed the true nature of his heart; a heart soaked in
pride.
You may ask, "What's your point?"
My friend, true humility is the extreme opposite of pride.
A real man of God will display humility in all areas of life.
Humility is absolutely essential to progression in God.
Therefore, clothe yourself with it!
Do you desire to be useful in the Kingdom of God?
Allow God to change you.
Change you into His kind of man.
"...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the
day of salvation." - II Corinthians 6:2
Accept Christ Jesus into your life today. It's as simple as
this small prayer...
Jesus, I realize and admit that I am a sinner, living as my
flesh desires. I have not done as your Word instructs, and I
am sorry. I plead with you right now, to hear my humble
prayer and I invite you to become the center of my life. I
realize now, O God, that I cannot make it in this life
without you. I've tried for too long...
Please come into my life and abide in my soul...in my
spiritual man. I need you to help me live as your Word
commands. In the name of Jesus...Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer...God has heard you.
