Who is in Charge?—Posted 04/13/2006

The Psalmist, David, wrote in Psalm 18:30,"As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all
those that trust in him."

God knows what he is doing!!

We sometimes think that our "ways" are best, but this is far from the truth. Only God has all knowledge and can know what is
best for you and me.

I went today with my son on his kindergarten field trip to the "Trolley Museum". It was nice to ride those old cars and just sort of
be "taken back-in-time".

While riding the trolley, the man driving it asked a question of the children. He asked,"What is different from a trolley and a car or
truck?"

After several wrong answers, the man gave the answer,"A trolley does not have a steering-wheel."

He went on to say,"A trolley can only go where the track leads, or allows it to go. No man can make it go anywhere else."
(emphasis mine)

In other words, the one who laid out the track knew the best route for that trolley car to travel, and thus the track was laid in this
place. If it where left up to the trolley car, there would be sure disaster, for no trolley can go without the direction of it's track.

Recall the text,"As for God, his way is perfect..."

God has a plan for you.

God has a plan for me.

You see, God has a vision that we do not have. He knows the outcome before it happens. Just as that track-laying engineer
knows the best spot for each stretch of track, God knows what is the "ideal" for you.

"His way is perfect."

Perfect...

The absolute best place for you is where God leads you.

Now realize what that entails...allowing God to lead you.

First of all, you must yield to HIS will.

Romans 6:13 states,"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; but yield yourselves unto
God..."(emphasis mine)

Yield your life, or give-in and allow God the "right-of-way" in your heart.

Stop trying to "steer" your life!!!

As a matter of fact, remove the steering-wheel from your life. In other words, allow God complete control of all your doings. God
requires a completely surrendered heart, He will not settle for runner-up in your life.

By giving God your "will", this opens your heart to God in all areas of your life.

He will gain access to parts of you that have been dormant for years... maybe all your life.

Romans 12:2 tells us to,"...prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."(emphasis mine)

There is ONE will of God for your life.

Many try to teach a different doctrine, but there is only one good, acceptable, and perfect will of God for you.

Do not be fooled. God does not conform to your misdoings and line up to some "permissible-will" doctrine that man has
conjured up. Recall the scripture again..."what is THAT(not THOSE)...will of God".

Seek God to know His will and way for you.

Let Him lead you. DO NOT try to steer God's thoughts in "your direction", rather conform yourself to His "track" and go HIS WAY.

You must be willing to give yourself to God's mercy. Just as that trolley car goes only where those tracks allow it, so must it be
with God. It no longer is,"What do I want to do with my life?", but it becomes,"God, take me where I can be useful for you and
carry out Your desires so I can be effective in Your kingdom."

A victorious Christian must seek to give God control of...EVERYTHING.

James 4:7 reveals this wonderful truth of God, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
(emphasis mine)

The only problem is most people only know the latter part of this scripture.(Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.)

Then they wonder why Satan still has reign in their lives.

It's because they didn't "SUBMIT" to God.

If this sounds familiar, you need to quit steering the car and give in to God's direction.

Don't hesitate...

II Corinthians 6:2 says,"...behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation.)”  (emphasis mine)
