Will You Regret It?
Hebrews 12:14-17 reads as follows:
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: looking diligently lest any man
fail of
the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any
fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that
afterward, when
he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it
carefully
with tears."
You find the account of Esau and his twin brother Jacob in Genesis 25:24-34. Take the time to read those scriptures
also.
Esau began his life as a man of the wilderness. He was a hunter. He was a woodsman.
The Bible records that coming home from one of his hunting expeditions, Esau was weary, exhausted and, in his
opinion,
near death. Upon seeing his brother Jacob making stew, he asked for a bowl of it. Jacob replied that he would only
give
Esau a bowl if he would trade his "first-born" inheritance blessing, or "birthright" for the stew. Esau, feeling as if he was
already at death's door, complied, sold his birthright to his younger twin brother, and left to hunt again.
This decision would haunt him all the days of his life!
You see, Esau's birthright represented the favored blessing from his father. He was entitled to this because he was
the first-
born. Actually, according to Jewish law, Esau was destined to receive a double-blessing and inheritance.
This is what he decided was less important than an immediate "fix" to his present problem, HUNGER.
His growling stomach and weary body convinced him to despise his rightful blessing from his father.
And, HE REGRETTED IT FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!
Recall that the Bible states, "...how that afterward,....he was rejected,....and he found no place for repentance...
though he
sought it..." (Emphasis and Italics mine)
AFTERWARD. After he had time to think it out. After he was able to ponder it with a sound mind. AFTERWARD.
My friend, the question to you today is:
What decisions have you made in life that you will regret? Or, what decisions are you pondering right now?
Will you "sell-out" for a simple, pleasurable moment? A moment of sinful ecstasy? A moment of ungodly thoughts?
Sir, is that affair you have pondered with your co-worker going to glorify God?
Young lady, taking the next step with your boyfriend...and becoming pregnant; will it draw you nearer to the Lord?
Please take heed to the message today.
Every decision you make affects another person. It affects your mother. It affects your father.
It affects your children. It affects your co-workers. It affects your future spouse.
Premarital sexual relationships affect every partner, you, and your future spouse.
Extramarital affairs affect you, your spouse, the lover, his or her spouse, both of the families, and multiplied others.
Drinking alcohol affects you and possibly could take your life, or the life of an innocent bystander. Drugs affect the
same.
Ungodly music and other perverted media sources: magazines, internet, television, and movies affect you in ways that
sometimes are not detected until it is too late.
Resisting the conviction of God's Spirit can result in a soul eternally tormented in that horrible place called Hell.
Today, my heart is heavy with a burden for your soul! I am concerned that you will ignore the pleading call of Jesus
Christ.
Will you regret the decision you make regarding this simple Gospel message?
Will you be as Esau? Realizing afterward that you should have reacted differently?
Multiplied thousands are reeling in the flames of Hell this very second, REGRETTING the decisions they made.
If you could interview the millions of souls in Hell, you would hear one resounding response...
MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES!!!!! IF YOU DON'T, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!
Esau walked away from God. He regretted it!
He sold his rightful blessing from the father. He regretted it!
Esau quit because it was too hard. He regretted it!
Will you regret it?
Will you regret allowing the wrong friends to lead you astray and away from the Will of God?
Will you regret not feeding your spiritual man through prayer, Bible reading, and church attendance?
Today you are facing a decision. A decision that will affect the rest of your life!
You will choose Christ or you will choose Satan.
If you choose Satan, you WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!
But, if you choose Jesus Christ, YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!
II Corinthians 6:2 says,"...behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation.” (emphasis mine)
Accept Christ Jesus into your life today. It's as simple as this small prayer...
Jesus, I realize and admit that I am a sinner, living as my flesh desires. I have not done as your Word instructs, and I
am
sorry. I plead with you right now, to hear my humble prayer and I invite you to become the center of my life. I realize
now, O
God, that I cannot make it in this life without you. I've tried for too long...
Please come into my life and abide in my soul...in my spiritual man. I need you to help me live as your Word
commands. In
the name of Jesus...Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer...God has heard you.
Find a Bible-teaching church...and start attending.
Begin daily Bible reading...this is how God speaks to man.
And make time each day to pray to the Lord, in the name of Jesus, for this is now the spiritual lifeline with your
Saviour.
Praise the Lord!!!
